We are now closed for the Season.
Paul and Cathy Hope, of Sharon Orchards and Organic Gardens,
invite you to visit our Farm Market.
Our Market is now closed for the season. We plan to open again mid-September 2024 when the first variety of our apples ripen.
We have apple cider and Amish made apple butter, as well as squash, beets, garlic and honey.
We make our cider from a blend of different varieties of tree ripened, hand picked apples. We added a new variety into the blend this year and the response from those who taste it has been exciting.
We will remember this formula to use in future years.
Our apple crop was good this year but not as big as we wanted and needed.
Since we sold out of apples by November 10 last year and again this season, I am glad that we planted 300 more apple trees this past spring. They will not be producing apples for the first two years but starting in 2025 they should add significantly to our volume.

One of the highlights of the 2020 season was being awarded the Agricultural Business of the Year by the East Gwillimbury Chamber of Commerce. We feel very honoured. Thank you.
Here at Sharon Orchards we pride ourselves on quality apples. Our apples have been grown using a minimal amount of synthetic chemical sprays providing a more naturally grown apple. As a result, the flavour of our apples has not been altered.
The downside of this approach is that there may be minor imperfections on the skin of our apples. For the most part, in order to grow the “perfect apple”, large amounts of spray need to be used in order to protect the apples from fungus, insects, and many other diseases that affect the apples.
We believe that taste is more important than appearance, so try the difference yourself!
In the future, we would like to switch entirely to organically certified sprays, so that we can provide a true organically grown apple.
